Definition

A secure environment where two or more parties can match and analyse their combined first-party data without either party seeing the other's raw, underlying data.

Why it matters

Data clean rooms are the primary mechanism for cross-channel measurement and audience matching in a world where raw data sharing is increasingly restricted by privacy regulation and platform policy.

Key consideration

A clean room means neither side sees raw data — only matched, aggregated output. Do not go into a clean room partnership expecting log-level access for independent analysis; that defeats the purpose of the clean room itself.
